Rewind.

Ever wished you owned the remote control in the movie " Click " ?

It's funny how long it took to organise a gathering that only lasted for 12 hours +.
The process of organising it will be something that I will cherish for a very long time. From the moment we submitted our proposal to hold the gathering to the day of the gathering itself. People have different perspectives about this gathering. There are those attending the gathering. There are also those who helped a lot along the way. Then there are us, the Organising Committee. Each and everyone who attended our gathering, may they be participants or just spectators, played their role in making our gathering a memorable one. Everyone had their own experience on The Revolving Realm depending on whose shoes you are in. After participating in a number of gatherings throughout my 5 years of guiding, I enjoyed 4th Unit Rangers' Gathering 2009 - The Revolving Realm the most. Hands down. It was a different experience all together. Organising and participating. No one would know what all the 14 of us had gone through to make this gathering a success. A success in our eyes, at least. It was a lot of hard work, sweat, toil. And of course, emotions fluctuating like a roller-coaster ride. Problems popping out overnight like mushrooms sprouting after a heavy downpour. It's not just the downs, but the ups that kept us going. Kept us determined, strong. Even with individuals underestimating us, we kept going.
For most of us, it has been our dream, a milestone to hold this gathering ever since I knew what exactly was a gathering. Now that we have done it, I want to do it all over again. And certainly hope I don't have to wait for another 4 years for the next gathering. I reckon it wasn't a tradition to hold a gathering once in 4 years. It just so happen to be once in 4 years..
I, on behalf of the Organising Committee would like to express our utmost sincere gratitude to our teacher advisors for assisting us throughout the whole process, madams who took some time off from their hectic life to attend our gathering and giving us your feedback about our gathering, may it be good or bad, fellow loyal Rangers who supported , performed, provided us with the manpower we needed badly, brother scouts and sister guides who attended our gathering, last but not least, my annoying, weird, worst and the best sister I ever had in my entire life ( wth, you're my only sister ) for taking the train back all the way from KL after bugging you to come for the gathering which I PAID FOR!, listening to my rantings and bearing with it. Oh and paying for my food.

So have I ever wished that I owned the remote control in the movie " Click " ?
I did.
I still do.

Eva,

As a madam in 8th Coy, I would like to congratulate you on the very successful gathering the rangers and the guides organized. I was impressed with the effort everyone put in. Although I did not attend the gathering, I was very much proud of the big leap you and the rest of the leaders made. Looking back at the times when you and the rest were in Form 1 and 2, I believe all of you have grown in many ways, as proven in the success of this gathering. Judging from the crowds' response and from other reviews I have read, you and the rest of the organizing committee earned a priceless experience and rest assured that your efforts are well-appreciated.

Keep the guiding spirit hot and fiery! Congratulations on the job well done! =)

Yours sincerely,
Madam/Ex-Student of MC 2006
