Of Christmas and New Year.

This year's Christmas was spent with friends and family. That should be the way right? Not by clubbing your Christmas away. What's the true meaning of Christmas then? (:
It was also my first time celebrating Christmas with Catholics. I would say that it was an eye-opening experience cos firstly, I'm not a Christian and I have never felt the christmasy atmosphere at home. All in all, thank you, Suiee and your warm family for sharing your Christmas with me and also for showing me what Christmas means to you!

To the whole eccentric gang of 4BR, this is the hotel in Penang I told you guys about.
With their very own private beach.
The plan is still on, people! Dad already agreed to let us have a vacation there.
I CAN'T WAIT TILL POST-SPM!!!

Can't wait to sink you teeth in that? :D

"It looks like River Thames on a bad day, " Ian Wright's description of our famous local cuisine, laksa.

Sorry, Ian Wright, but I reckon laksa looks and taste just fine the way it is! :D

What Happened in .... Taman Golf.

Reasons why you shouldn't live beside a river during rainy seasons or heavy downpours :

Indoor pond look-a-like.

I even spotted a teeny weeny tadpole.

Pardon my feet. Had to put it somewhere since the floor was wet.

The water looks clean here but actually..

....its this colour. Probably a mixture of cow dung and sewage water.
Oh and dried leaves, little fishes and tadpoles.

An unhappy Diva cleaning up her house.
Which took her about 1 day to clean up her whole entire house with the help of
Dad, Mum, Aunt and maidy.
Lucky sis for being temporarily disabled. All she had to do was to supervise. -.-

Even after this misfortune, I still like can't think of a better place to stay despite not having any friends living near by. Peaceful area, I tell ya!

An Early Christmas Present.

Before I write this post, I would like to justify my long absence from Foon & Spork. I guess there's always an excuse why isn't my blog updated. (: This time, I would say so many things happened ( including life-threatening experience ) consecutively that leaving Foon & Spork to collect dust and ignoring my social life for now seems to be the right thing to do. So, please do accept my utmost sincere apology,my fellow loyal readers ( if there are any ) !

Firstly, I would like to write a bit about the Sam Tet's 48th Annual Gathering. Most of you all know that the fees charged was RM 25.00 ( the most costly gathering I've ever attended so far) by now. Considering it has been almost a week since the gathering was held. RM25.00 is considered as a big sum of cash in a poor student's world, like me! And yet, I insisted to go for this event cos I know this gathering would probably be the last one that I'll ever attend due to SPM next year. I insisted to go even though the attendance from most schools were abysmal. I insisted to go even though the fees was an absurd amount even if God-knows how much from that amount was for charity. Not to mention, their lack of time management skills. I admit that I thought this gathering was a waste of money and time and the lamest gathering ever by midday. Absolutely convinced, in fact cos of the oh-so-poor attendance from most schools except for Poi Lam, of course. By night, by the time I set my foot into Yuk Choy's Hall, I would say 39th Kinta Troop gained back my respect. The decorations, the backdrop, the jaw-dropping gadget at the entrance of the hall blew me away. The decorations especially! That 'wow' factor did not stop there. When they gave away cheques to representatives of a few old folks' home and children's home, I definitely felt I did the right thing to attend this gathering. It feels good to know that you probably contributed to the little and elderly ones in making their lives a better one or maybe even made this year's Christmas celebration a remarkable one to them. I guess that truly is the true meaning of Christmas. A season of giving!

Now, for the life threatening experience, it didn't occur to me. It was my sister. This incident not only taught a few life lessons to her, but also to me. She was recently robbed by an armed man in the worst place to raise a child ( maybe just to me cos I'm sort of a small town kid ), KL. The aftermath? A deep slash on her left arm. Deep enough to cut her nerve. I can imagine the blood splattering out. Shudders* It's funny how money can make humans act so inhumanely, right? The moment of realisation for me was I was so close to losing my sister, okay maybe losing my sister's left arm that I would have cried my eyeballs out of the eye sockets even though I know it wouldn't help. I even thought how stupid I was to even joke about how the world would be a better place without her existence. Through this unfortunate incident, I learned how important siblings, family, and friends are in one's life. As for my sister, she really do have a lot of friends who do sincerely care for her, who paid a visit to our crib, who willingly drove her around (p/s: I've got no driver now! Man! ) and that made her realise "there are a lot of love and care out there despite the cruel existence of those willing to hurt others for mere materials" and had shown her "how important family and friends are to any individual" By the way, I find it necessary to say that she is recuperating fast and she owes me big time! I know you'll read this soon enough, OKU. Haha!!

My Disatisfaction.

  • I don't really see the need to online these days. Thus, the long absence here. I guess I've been so caught up with Midnight Sun that nothing I do is more interesting than reading it. And now I'm starting to wonder where are all my friends? It's been like so long since the last time I even talked to them. But then again, maybe I'm so busy preparing for Sam Tet's gathering and reading Midnight Sun that I didn't have the time to catch up with them. So to the gang who is reading this right now, WE NEED TO CATCH UP WITH EACH OTHER SOON!! :D

  • I really reckon that Midnight Sun is a better version of Twilight. Maybe its because I'd like to know what's in Edward's mind instead of Bella's thoughts. I also personally liked the way Stephenie Meyer changed the perspective of a vampire to most people. Its just the way she describes a situation, a feeling,an emotion, a character that had me wanting for more. And Twilight the movie is really not as bad as what everybody's saying these days. I mean, c'mon! It is a low-budget movie after all. Give the director and actors/actresses some credits! They weren't that bad. I can't even think of a better Edward that could have been casted. And the scene effects could be better, no doubt but lets be reminded that it is a low-budget movie. Yes, the movie is not as detailed as the book but it's still not bad, at least? Maybe all these critics that are being thrown at the movie is because there are a lot of people who are into this Twilight Saga and that by not liking it, they'd be different. Or their expectation was just a little bit to high. This is just my opinion. Everyone has their own opinion. So please do not be offended.

  • Sometimes when you're a sincere friend to someone, that someone might not be as sincere to you as you are to him/her. And it bugs me. It bugs me that I actually do bother to keep in touch but you're not bothered. It bugs me cos its as though I'm being used. I guess this is how life works and all I can do is to accept it. So, thanks for everything, friend and good luck with your life.
